Roll On
I love that little blue Kelowna book. Love it. It's full of maps, hints about where to eat and places to have a great time searching for your golf ball. (Well, some of us have to search.) I love it because it helps me recalibrate my perspective. There's another book that I love looking at for a perspective adjustment. Except it doesn't so much have street maps as it does soul maps. It has words like "trust", "commit" and "be still". It inspires, commands, laments, encourages, tells stories of tragedy, failure and hope. It renews our focus on God - on who He is and what He can do. Key Passage: Psalm 37

How have we distorted who Christ is in our own lives? Are we deceived and missing out on the fullness of life in relationship with Christ?

Mark 3:7-21
Mark 3 details why there was such hope and anticipation built around the person of Christ in His early ministry, not unlike the expectation that currently has been placed on President Obama. James Sutton explains the significance of Christ strategically choosing 12 disciples, and the personalities that accompanied them. Mark 3 illustrates that God always has permanent solutions in mind when we may only desire immediate fixes. Are your desires too small for Jesus' objective sometimes?

The 23rd Psalm Part 1
The 23rd Psalm is a great way to start the New Year looking at The Lord—our guide, protector, our Shepherd—instead of on resolutions that begin with self or ‘I’. Composer David’s dysfunctional family background filled with the fear of failed relationships and death itself forms the backdrop of this passage. Learn basic concepts that will help you articulate the gist of Psalm 23 by expanding on the opening words of the text “The Lordâ€, “isâ€, “myâ€, and “Shepherdâ€. This study introduces the 6-part series and underscores how vital and relevant the analogy of the shepherd is in today's of economic turmoil and uncertainty.
