Because of what Christ has done those who know Him have been given the privilege of a new relationship with God. We are also called to a new kind of relationship with other believers. What does if mean to provoke each other in a positive manner.
God is Faithful; shown, promised, applied to us, and proclaimable. We have a calling, a sure future, and a secure present.
Pastor Jeff Bullock continues our sermon series "The Call of the Gospel" in the book of Philippians. In the second half of Philippians chapter 2 we find Paul writing the church of Philipi and encouraging them not to grumble & complain so that they may remain pure in heart before God. Paul strongly encourages the church to "Hold fast the word of life" in their daily walk with God.
1. a) Hold fast the word of God to be saved I Cor 15:2 b) Hold fast the word of warning and repent Rev 3:2 2. Hold fast to your confidence till the end, then we become the part takers pf Christ Jesus - Heb 3:14 3. Hold fast to your confidence and rejoicing in hope firm then you are the habitation or the house of God - Heb 3:6 4. Hold fast to your confessions without wavering, for the Lord who has promised is faithful and also he is the high priest who intercedes on our behalf. Heb 4:14, 10:23 5. Hold fast to serve God alone - not to serve anything else which the enemy gives in exchange of God. Josh 23:8 6. Hold fast to the things which you have - so that no one takes your crown. The Lord comes quickly. We are expected to hold fast till he comes. Rev 3: 11 and 2:25
Your suffering is not in vain. Your heartbreak is not in vain. Your loss is not in vain. Your struggle is not in vain. Your past is not in vain. This day is not in vain. Your future is not in vain. God’s grace towards you is not in vain! Jesus swallowed our failure, shame, guilt, death, sin, and hell. Jesus became a man and lived our life and died our death to pay our penalty so that God could give us grace and welcome us in to His loving arms and say, “This is my boy, this is my girl, whom I love!” Happy Resurrection Sunday Kaleo. This morning from our text, Hebrews 12:1-2, I want you to see the two commands that the Lord has given us for running this race that has been set before us. 1. We are to lay aside anything that hinders us from running the race. 2. We are to run this race with endurance to the very end.
