Sermons About Holy-spirit
a Beautiful Contrast
Comparison and Contrast are amazing learning tools for teaching discernment and judgement skills. The Apostle John in his letter of 1 John masterfully uses contrast to teach what knowing, obeying and loving Christ truly look like. Light vs. Dark, Actions vs. mere words, Knowing Christ vs. Knowing about Christ, the Spirit of Truth vs. a spirit of falsehood are a few of the contrasts used in this short letter. Ultimately our lives are meant to be a beautiful contrast with those who live for and love the world. A Beautiful Contrast: We are great sinners and we have a Great Savior, Jesus Christ.

He may lead in ways that make perfect sense to us, and there may also be times when the path that God illuminates seems to contradict everything that we think is right or best. Sometimes, God's way may even seem crazy to us. What is our response to occasions when God's plan leads us to "uncomfortable places?"

It Began With a Dream: Macedonia
The jailer….rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He…asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus , and you will be saved—you and your household.” Acts 16.30-31 Today we are having a combined worship service with mixed styles, lots of people and the desire to use every possible seat in our sanctuary. It will be pretty informal and celebratory. Our pastor will continue our walk through the Book of Acts. Our service of worship will end with some immersion baptisms with testimonies.

The Holy Spirit Equips the Messenger and Reveals Truth
In this sermon from Acts 17 we are reminded that the One who holds the power of life & death; the One who holds the power of resurrection, also holds the power to put the world right. The resurrection of Jesus creates and then makes available the reality in which we are formed as new creatures in Christ by the Holy Spirit.
