Honoring Leaders
Pastor Jonathan continued our HONOR sermon series by focusing on one type of authority in our lives - our leaders. In this sermon, we learn about the relationship between Saul and David and how we can honor our leaders as a picture of our surrender to Christ in our lives.
1 Thessalonians, Part 14 - 06-02-2013
God's self-proclaimed position: the supreme being of all that has been created. God's self-proclaimed status: He is immutable, unchangeable. God's self-proclaimed weath: He created all things. He owns all things. There is nothing that God does not own. Taking Care of Mom
I sincerely hope that, if your Mother is alive, you have taken care of her today. I ran across a survey this week that indicated what women wanted this year for Mother’s Day. The poll indicated that Mothers wanted: flowers (18%), spa day (18%), gift cards (15%), and jewelry (15%). I also ran across another article that indicated the worst gifts you could get. Number one on the list was a diet or fitness product. Number two was wrinkle cream. Roses came next. The article said instead our mothers want carnations on Mother’s Day. A pet, cleaning equipment, bath stuff, and potpourri also headed up the list of what not to buy for your mothers.
Honoring Mothers
We are called to honor both the physical and spiritual mothers of the church.
Homes of Honor
In this Mother's Day message Pastor Ron affirms the importance of honoring our mothers, fathers and other family members and unpacks the meaning of the word "honor" as it's used in the Bible. This is a message for every family member that will help families build respect and show God's love to one another.
A Worthy Career
Mother's Day 2013 - The work of mothers is not to be considered idle work. Women that honor and fear God are to be praised says Proverbs 31:30. Parenting by example trumps technique every time. Because God is with you rely on faith and not fear. When this occurs your faith will be passed on to the next generation.
