Hope for Hard Times (Part 2)
Times are hard right now. You don't need to watch the evening news to know it. But a closer look at the Book of Habakkuk shows us that God is good and Christ alone is our Hope during hard times.
Why Do I Hurt?
Even though I have no food in the cupboard, no petrol in the car, no job, no pension, no support whatsoever, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. What is the purpose of my pain?
Advent: Love 2008
In the gospel we learn that we love God because God first loved us (1 John 4:19). In the gospel we hear of the truly loving One who came for us. We hear of the promise of God that tells us that all our hatred, all our despising of God and His goodness was swallowed up in Jesus’ death and was victoriously defeated in Jesus’ resurrection. Have you forgotten the gospel of grace where God’s love is shown most clearly. Jesus is calling us to remember the very basis for our love, the content of our love, the very person of our love, Jesus.

The Shack Part 4 - Outbound Ripples
We have all been hurt at some level, but what do we do when those hurts feel insurmountable or unforgivable? When they paralyze us or cause us to run from God and even blame Him. In this message, Scott Wilson interviews Auntie Ann Pretzel's founder, Ann Beiler, how her life went into a tailspin after the death of her 19-month-old daughter, who was run over by a farm tractor in 1975. We will hear about how God redeemed her from such a tragic loss and the powerful way God is using her to help and bless countless others. God wants to restore, heal, repair us - to bring us beyond a place of existence, but to that place of joy and fulfillment - where we can use our hurts to heal others.
The Shack Part 3 - A Morning of Sorrows
We have all been hurt at some level, but what do we do when those hurts feel insurmountable or unforgivable? When they paralyze us or cause us to run from God and even blame Him. In this new series, we want to create an environment and opportunity for God to meet people where they are at in the midst of their pain. The healing processes outlined in Scripture are only effective when in relationship with God. Emotional healing doesn't take place by ignoring or pushing the pain away. It happens when we meet with God in the place of our pain and embrace it with Him. God wants to restore, heal, repair us - to bring us beyond a place of existence, but to that place of joy and fulfillment - where we can use our hurts to heal others.

Life After the Storm
If we are going to reach out with the love of Jesus to the community around us we will not be able to avoid the topic of divorce. All of us have been affected either directly or indirectly by the breakdown of the family, and we desperately need to understand HOW to respond to a broken, hurting world. Unfortunately, a marriage failure often brings a "double whammy" in that there is first the very real pain of the breakup, and secondly, an equally great pain that the church does not know how to respond. May God give us grace to learn. Key Passage: Psalm 34:18
Does God Care When I'm Hurting?
Life is hard, painful and unfair but in the midst of it God cares. He cares when you're hurting and today He is reaching out to you.
