The Christian Household
The passage at the end of Ephesians 5 is the most direct instructions about the roles of different members of the household. Paul, continuing his instructions on living a life worthy of our calling (Eph. 4:1), gives instruction to the Ephesian Christians about how the household and its members should conduct themselves in relation to each other. The traditional view of marriage and roles is upheld. A complementary view of the role of men/women is supported. The interdependence of the family to grow in the grace of Christ and serve the Lord is the goal.
