Different By Design
<p>Men and women, created in the image of God, are equal in value, importance, significance and dignity. But in a reflection of the glorious unity and diversity of the Trinity, men and women are also created and called by God to serve in different but complementary roles. In the context of the church and family, men are called by God to lead and provide, and women are called by God to help. This calling predates mankind's fall into sin.</p> <p>To say all this is barely to scratch the surface; applying this requires careful attention to God's commands and a watchfulness that we do not fall into the various temptations that beset us as men and women. The Purpose of Family
Why did God create the family? What are the purposes behind the family? In our culture, we are driven by a powerful individualism that puts personal happiness and fulfillment as being of the utmost importance. Everything becomes subservient to the goal of making oneself happy. When we take this cultural value and impose it upon a biblical institution like the family, we end up with deep dissatisfaction and the disintegration of the family that we are witnessing on a massive scale. The problem is not with the institution of family, but with the cultural value being imposed upon it.

Freedom to Be God's Child
It has often been said that "we are all God's children." It is interesting, though, that this was not the teaching of Jesus or his Apostles. Though Scripture affirms that we are all God's creation it also affirms that we are all born estranged from God. If our life is allowed to take its natural course we will remain estranged from God and live in bondage to another father, the Devil. But our life need not take its "natural" course. God has provided a way for all people of all backgrounds, of all types, and of any status to be freed from bondage and adopted as His child. Listen in as we review the words of Jesus and Paul on being a child of God.
