The "State" of the Church
Luke offers us the “state” of the individual believer and the corporate church and those unique qualities that resulted in consistent growth spiritually. As we read and assimilate this information, we realize that Luke is presenting us with a pattern for ministry that was designed to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ until He comes again.

Will You Impact Someone's Life
Will You Impact Someone’s Life? Sharing Christ starts with each one of us! It is the duty of every Born Again Christian to pray for the unsaved. Our neighbors, friends and family! We should pray daily, that God would touch the hearts of those to be saved, to set up that, “chance meeting,” for us to share the happiness of Christ in us. We should pray unceasingly, share the plan of salvation and convert the lost. And lastly, invite others to church for fellowship with like believers.

Spiritual Fatherhood
Synopsis: Samuel was spiritually mentored by Eli and directed towards his Destiny in God. Scripture: I Samuel 3: 1-11 (NIV) NIV 1 Samuel 3:1 The boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions. 2 One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. 3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was. 4 Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, "Here I am." 5 And he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." But Eli said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." So he went and lay down. 6 Again the LORD called, "Samuel!" And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." "My son," Eli said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him. 8 The LORD called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the LORD was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening." 11 And the LORD said to Samuel: "See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle. I. Living Lives of Consequence
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ gives us confidence that living all out for his purposes will not be a life lived in vain. To live lives of consequence means paying the cost in prayer, giving, and service.

Storms: "The Heart of the Matter"
In relationships the heart matters. Its shape, condition and vitality. To God the heart matters as well. Most times condition of our heart determines the condition of our relationships. Scripture: NLT: Proverbs 21:1-3 1 The king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; he turns it wherever he pleases. 2 People may think they are doing what is right, but the LORD examines the heart. 3 The LORD is more pleased when we do what is just and right than when we give him sacrifices. PRAYER: Full Time Job
Synopsis: Elijah was expecting God to answer his prayers in a certain way and through his experience he learned to listen for the way God communicated. Prayer is communication with God that we do everyday all the time. It is more than a part time activity; learning to pray is a full-time job. Three steps (please display them on the screen together as well as individually when they come up): Listening Living Learning Text: 1 Kings 19:11 - 12 (NIV) 11 The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. Please display a quote from a book I will read. Prayers by Michel Quoist. If we knew how to listen to God, if we knew how to look around us, our whole life would become prayer. For it unfolds under God’s eyes and no part of it must be lived without being freely offered to Him. At first we communicate with words, which may be dispensed with later on…as one does the peelings of a fruit. Words are only a means. However, the silent prayer which has moved beyond words must always spring from everyday life, for everyday life is the raw material of prayer. Under the last section, Learning, please list 4 bullets: Praying the Scriptures Conquering the Attention Span God Cares All the TIme Forming a Relationship Under Praying the scriptures, display additional scripture: Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless God's holy name!

Stretched
Sermon Two Part Two: The boy who gave his seemingly insignificant lunch to Jesus found out that it was really significant. In the hands of Christ it was multiplied-stretched. In God's hands we are stretched. NIV John 6:1 Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), 2 and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the miraculous signs he had performed on the sick. 3 Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples. 4 The Jewish Passover Feast was near. 5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. 7 Philip answered him, "Eight months' wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!" 8 Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up, 9 "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" 10 Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them. 11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. 12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." 13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. 14 After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world." I. Strategic Position II. Strategic People III. Their Role is to Bless You IV. They Bless You by Stretching You ** Illustration: Everyone given a piece of Bubble Gum during the offering time. During the sermon I will ask them to blow a bubble which will symbolize being stretched.
