Leadership for the Long Haul
Saul’s first crisis in leadership comes when he is ready to go into battle but he has been told to wait at Gilgal until Samuel shows up to offer a sacrifice. This story shows us the tragedy that takes place when we doubt God’s word and head off on our own. We ultimately need a leader who will stand firm in crisis and trust God.

2 Sameul 15 - The Politics of Impatience
Absalom leads a consiracy to take over the throne of Israel from David by becoming impatienct with God and his will. His Scheme seems to work as David decides to feel Jerusalem. The Author brings out the teme of impatience with God in this chapter through the following contrasts: 1) a Me-First Strategy vs. a Humble Strategy, 2) Godless Ambition vs. Self Sacrifice, 3) Rebellion vs. Submission, and 4) a Selfish Perspective vs. a Honest Perspective. One will learn that being impatient with God is like catching a knife on the wrong end - it will hurt. Like David Jesus crossed the Brook of Kidron to pray and accept the will of God. Are you more like Absalom or David and Ittai when it comes to your trust in the will of God? Listen and find out.

Learning patience with the Lord
You've probably all heard the saying "Lord, give me patience, and give it to me now!" It brings a smile to our faces, because we know it is true to life. This is so often how we feel. Today we are looking at the circumstances surrounding Jacob's birth. It seems to me that one of the main principles God wants us to grasp here is to do with patience and impatience.
