Paul moves from our great privilige to our great responsibility- to walk in/by the Spirit. It is founded on the graces of justification & adoption, and is the grace of sanctification. It has both positive and negative aspects: the fruit of the Spirit & the putting to death of the desires of the flesh. This sermon covers putting sin to death.
No Other Gospel
There is (another) crisis over the gospel. It is not a matter of semantics, but one that revolves around whether or not we are united with Christ and recipients of grace. Paul here reveals some of the basic elements of the gospel while warning the Galatian churches they are in danger of severing themselves from Christ through this false teaching.
Sin in the City
Sin destroys God's plan and purposes for the City. But Christ came to overturn the curse of sin into a blessing. He works in us to put our sin to death, and through us to stop the spread of sin in the church & City.
