Integrity: Its Greatest Test Yet
Integrity: Its Greatest Test Yet Daniel Chapter Six A new government but the same old human nature * The plot against Daniel included jealousy, deception, murder and flattery. (verses 4-9) * Even Daniel’s enemies acknowledged that he was reliable, neither corrupt nor negligent. The ideal set up for a compromise (verses10-14 * The new law only forbade the making of petitions to God, and that for only 30 days out of the year, one month out of an entire lifetime. * Why not pray in a closet for 30 days instead of in front of his window? * It was not as though he was asked to deny his faith or publicly worship an idol or image. * Daniel knew the 70 year duration of their captivity was up. His people could soon return to Jerusalem. He prayed his whole life for this, why die now, it seems utterly pointless. They called for a stone to be placed over the door of the lions den with the king’s seal on it so Daniel’s situation could not be changed! (verse 17) * Many of us know of another case where a STONE was to seal an opening so the situation could not be changed! * This is not a darling little children’s Sunday school story! Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him standing firm in the faith… (1 Peter 5:8,9) There’s an exciting dimension to living in our Babylon (vs. 25-28) * There are gloriously intense encounters with God! * Ultimately Babylon can’t destroy you, if you’re living a life of integrity. * It’s great to see worldly heathen kings becoming so impressed with our God that they influence entire empires!

The Privilege of God's Family
Psalm 15 To the privileges of God's Son and God's Word, we now add God's Family. But what can be said about those who get to live with God? What do those in God's family look like? How do they act, work, and speak? As we answer these questions from Psalm 15, we are reminded that we're actually taking about us, the family of God at Northpoint. As we face the future, with all of its unknowns, it will only be our character as God's children that will make it true of us that we "will never be shaken" (Psalm 15:5c).

The Personal Dimension of Parenting
According to Ephesians 6:4 as parents we are told to not exasperate our children but to bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. We must first order our personal world as parents so that we will not exasperate our children. To do that we must: make Christ the priority of our life; pursue consistent integrity; process our personal baggage and confront pride - be a student of parenting. Spiritually and emotionally healthy lives pave the way to healthy families.
