Sermons About Jeff-lethco
God's Pursuit
As we went through "God's Pursuit," Jeff reminded us of how persistent God is in pursuing us. He desires to have an intimate relationship with us, but oftentimes, we live out of bounds in how he says we are to live. He wants us to live in a relationship of obedience to him. He is pursuing us. How will you respond?

God's Work
The image of God as an old grandfather sitting around on a cloud watching the events of the world as they take place could not be further from the truth. God is anything but passive! He is a very active God that is constantly at work. This week we will learn to see what Jesus saw; God is always at Work!

Intentional Relationships
As we concluded in the series, Waiting on the World to Change, we discussed the need to develop "Intentional Relationships" for the sake of bringing other people close to Jesus. There are so many people around us that need a relationship with God, and God is constantly opening doors for us. But unless we are intentional about walking through those doors God opens, we will miss out on adding to the Kingdom.

Practical Service
When it comes to changing the world, sometimes we need to become Jesus' hands and feet in practical ways to the people around us. You can change the world in many ways from day to day. Hear the story of what God can do through willing servants. Be amazed at what a Gideon's Bible did in the life of Carrie Christie and God used her to change many other lives.

Strategic Family
Our world needs some changing, and God intends to change it through the family. The most critical spiritual environment is the one in which you live. As we look at these up and coming generations, we must realize that trained church professionals are not the answer to our children's spiritual needs. Our children need their parents to live for Christ before their eyes.

Perfect Timing
When Esther's people were in trouble, she was told maybe she had been placed in her position for "such a time as this." In our trouble-filled world, we have been placed at this time at this place for a specific purpose. But are you still waiting on the world to change or will you decide to be a world changer for such a time as this?

The Mind of Investment
Every spending decision is a spiritual decision. If we are to develop a mind of investment, we have to realize that everything belongs to God - even our finances. And if all our finances belong to God, we must make sure that how we spend what he gave us glorifies him. You've heard a bunch what to do with the 10% of your money, but listen to hear what to do with the other 90%.

The Heart of Stewardship
Every financial decision you make is either a credit to your spiritual life or a debit from your spiritual life. Money is one of those areas that cause many headaches in our lives, but God has many commands concerning your finances that actually are meant to free you. The heart of stewardship begins with you realizing that everything you have belongs to God.

Coming Again
Concerning Christ's Second Coming, Christians either try to figure out all the details concerning his return or forget about it altogether because it is too difficult to understand. While we will never be sure about times and details of his return, we can be sure of this - we have hope - he is coming again!

Only Way
Jesus is the way. He is the truth. He is the life. But how clear was Jesus concerning him being the only way really? A better question is: are we really clear? Is he truly the only way?

Overshadowed Past
God is a lot more concerned with your future than he is your past. Sometimes we keep a distance from God due to a sinful past. Some people keep God at a distance because of their self-proclaimed "righteousness." But God isn't concerned with yesterday. He's really concerned about what you do today.

In Control
Is God truly in control? Does he really have the whole world in his hands? There are times in our lives when it appears as if he is not in control, but Scripture attests that there has never been a moment when God was not in control. As we look at the story of Job, we will find a faith that trusts in God even when our worlds seem to be falling apart.

Changing Lives
God's still in the business of changing lives. On this Easter Sunday, we celebrate a risen Savior. And while you can resort to arguments concerning the reality of a risen Jesus, you can't argue with results. He is still changing lives. And he can still change yours.

Fear Blues

Death Blues
There's nothing wrong with holding on. This week's sermon deals with the reality of death and how to handle the pain biblically. If you are holding onto God during the grieving process, you will find there's nothing wrong with holding on.

Circumstantial Blues
Circumstances change, but God does not. During those times when it seems like our worlds are crashing down, we need something constant on which to cling. In a changing world, our hope is that we hold onto a God that is steadfast.

Surrendered Life
A surrendered life is a satisfied life. Throughout the Book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon recorded his futile efforts at becoming satisfied in the things of this world. At the end, he came to a conclusion that life was to only be focused on two things.

Foolish Friends
The people worth pleasing are the people who are pleasing to God. Many of us face real trouble trying to live for God because we surround ourselves with people who have a different goal. The quality of our lives would improve greatly based upon the people we let near us in life.

Inevitable Change
You can't move forward while holding on to the past. Everything changes. Even when we desire for things to stay just the way they are, it seems like our lives change more rapidly than ever before. Solomon realized that there was a season for everything, and that we must come to grips with the reality of change.

Never-Ending Work
Work is a means but never an end. In our second week of Satisfaction, we read how Solomon tried to find contentment in his work, but he never felt fulfilled. In a busy culture full of hectic lifestyles, we need to remember that work is a means but it was never intended to be an end.

Worldly Pleasure
Worldly pleasure only lasts for a season. In this first week of our Satisfaction life focus, we look at the pursuit of worldly pleasure. As Solomon tried every worldly pleasure available, he found that nothing could provide him satisfaction since worldly pleasure only lasts for a season.

The Incarnation
In a time when the world was at its darkest, Jesus came to save. Knowing we would be able to come to him, Jesus came to us. In the present state of this world, that is still our calling - to go to the people who need the light of Jesus.

The Situation
The world is in darkness. When you turn on the news, you see the trouble that this world is in due to being far away from God. Before focusing on the light of the world, we need to remember how bad off our world is apart from Jesus.

Nothing Separating
Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. No matter what comes our way, we can thank God for this "nothing" - that regardless of our circumstances, we are never alone and we are never forsaken.

Nothing Condemning
When we were born spiritually, all of our sins were forgiven - the past, present, and future. So why do we live under the weight of guilt? God's Word states that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Nothing Required
When it comes to a relationship with Jesus, nothing is required. In an attempt to be religious, we often attach things to salvation that we must do to earn God's favor. But thanks to Jesus and his sacrifice, truly nothing is required.

Grand Opening
On the day of North Side's grand opening of its building, be reminded of what church is all about. Its not about a building. Its not about a "wow." It's about God's people uniting together to do only what the church was intended to do.

From Wows to Vows
In Psalm 116 David speaks of his love for God and he declares that he will always be true and loyal to him. Why? Because of all the things that God had done for him in the past. David had experienced his share of the wow factor. But now it was time for him to show his appreciation, his gratitude for all that God had done. And the primary way he would do that would be through keeping his vows to God. David needed no more wows; instead, it was time for him to simply keep his vows to God and to keep them in plain view for others to see. Obviously this was a sign of great maturity and growth in David’s life. It was also a better way to live. This message will challenge the hearers to stop and be mindful of all the wows of their life and to commit themselves to live the rest of their lives on the vow factor instead of the wow factor.

Securing the Investment
Realizing that she could never keep her child out of the river, the mother of Moses devised a plan to keep the river out of her child. She built an ark and pitched it with tar to make sure that the life robbing waters of the Nile would stay safely away from her child. This lesson will draw from this story and urge parents (especially Dads on Father’s Day) to make sure that their homes have safeguards against the infiltration of the things of the world.

Designing the Interior
If you have ever walked into a house that has had the touch of an interior designer, you know what an impact it can have. People are the same way. We are told in Scripture that we should consider how to stimulate, provoke, encourage one another. The home should be a place where spiritual conversations happen naturally and intentionally. Paul tells us in Ephesians to speak to each other with hymns and spiritual songs. If there is anyplace that intentional discipleship should be taking place, it’s within the context of the Christian home. Listen to Jeff and his father, Jerry, concerning how he designed the interior of Jeff's childhood home.

Tearing Down Walls
Who hasn’t been hurt by a family member? Many of our wounds have left deep scars; scars that are there because of the selfishness of another family member. But if we cannot learn to forgive and move on, our past will prevent us from ever reaching our destiny or our “model.” Past hurts can become walls that separate us from one another and destine us to a life of isolation and bitterness. Like faulty wiring, an unforgiving heart can destroy a home. This lesson will deal with the biblical understanding of forgiveness and how it applies to all of our family relationships.

Inspecting the Wiring
Faulty wiring in a house can burn it down overnight! So can faulty wiring in a family. Unfortunately, we all come into this world with faulty wiring. We are born being “hard wired” to focus on ourselves. We think it is all about us; our time, our needs, our plans, our dreams, our everything! While most newly weds think they have found the person they want to spend the rest of their life with, few think they have found the person they want to pour themselves into for the rest of their life. That’s a big difference. The single most destructive force in any relationship is selfishness. Yet Jesus taught us that the only way to find life is to loose ours. If Jesus is going to be the center of our homes, then we must decrease so that He can increase.

Desiring a Renovation
The model home is one in which Jesus Christ is truly the center of all that is done. The model home is one where all family relationships are working together to produce a lifestyle of worshiping God, building up one another in the Lord, and impacting the world with the gospel. While many people refer to the church facilities as “God’s House”, we will teach that a greater understanding of “God’s House” is the Christian home. Will you make all investments necessary in bringing greater value to the family unit?

Your Story
Everybody's got a story to tell. Sometimes we make evangelism so difficult. Essentially, you simply need to share your story. One thing people can't argue with is if Jesus has truly changed your life. Evangelism wasn't meant to be this difficult.
