Luke 15.11-19: Son or Slave
This week we look at the last of three parables. It is traditionally referred to as the parable of the prodigal son. If we are honest with ourselves we are all the prodigal. We all have eyes for the distant land. The question for us all is do we ever come home? The prodigal chose the distant land and therefore chose slavery. He gave up sonship. He finally wakes up to his situation and condition. He begins to realize what he has done. Thought he begins to change his change is simply to survive. He does not fully realize the nature of his sin. He has broken the heart of his father and denied sonship. He must be willing to receive his father's love and forgiveness. We must do the same.

Nehemiah 9:1-38
Be the church, Impact the city. This week we see the revived Jews responding in confession and prayer. As they pray they recite the history of Israel giving praise to God. They close with action to state their changed lives. During our gathering on this day we showed a video of a couple in our church. This young couple has been overwhelmed by the grace of God in their lives. They wanted to share with you the life-change they have experienced.

Today we will look at love, the glue that joins and unites.
