Sermons About Job
Pursuing Work in Christ
The Bible absolutely condemns all involuntary slavery. But much of the slavery in the Roman Empire was voluntary; sort of like jobs, today, right? In this passage Paul calls us to obey our bosses in everything, all the time, and with all our heart. He also gives us three truths about Jesus which will help us do this.

Gods Waiting Room
This sermon looks at the life of Job and all he went through. Through all the trials and tribulations Job never ceased to praise God. He was obedient and very patient while he was in God's Waiting Room. As we see Job's life and his patience, we need to examine our own lives and learn that sometimes God wants us to wait on Him as uncomfortable as it may be at times.

Why Work?
What do you want to be when you grow up? perhaps one of the most important questions of our lives. Our entire experience of life hangs on the answer to this question - or so it seems. As Americans, we tend to find our identity in our work and what we do for a living. But is that what work is for? Does the Bible have anything to say about work? Why work? Listen and see if God has another purpose that may be more fulfilling than we realize.

Making Life Work - Take Initiative
Proverbs has a unique name for lazy people. It calls them sluggards. In Boston's fast paced and hurried culture, we don't see people who are sluggards near as often as we see really hard-working people be successful in most areas of their life, except for one or two. These are places we practice a kind of selective sluggardliness. Whether in our relationships, at work, our finances, or even our spirituality, God wants us to take initiative in every single area of our life. It's part of how life works.

Reframing Suffering
Nothing in life demands more scrutiny than our pain. It just shouts to be noticed. When our pain, physical or emotional, is at full throttle, we can scarcely think of anything else. The experience of suffering has caused many people to question the benevolence and even the existence of God. Some people have argued that a good God would certainly not allow suffering to occur as it does in our world. The book of Job is an ancient effort to address this very question. The bulk of this long book is comprised of dialogues between the suffering man, Job, and his supposed comforters.
