Sermons About John-the-baptist
John 1:29-34 - This is Jesus: The Son of God (John the Baptist's Testimony - Part 3)

John the baptist
Unfortunately the recording quality is very poor and part of the beginning is cut off. The evening was begun by asking the students to write down 5 short phrases to describe Jesus, then a clip from The Truman Show was played in which Truman begins to realize his life is not what he thought and his wife is merely an actress.

The teaching centers around Matthew 11 when John the Baptist wonders if he really knows who Jesus is, and the struggles we may face to know who Jesus is and our tendencies to shape him into our image.

Liking Repentance
The word 'repentance' has always brought up a negative feeling for me (maybe just too many people telling me to repent when I was younger). But repentance is actually a very positive walk into the grace and acceptance of God. Instead of binding and condemning us, it treats us as free sons and daughters liberated by the grace of God. Because God is good, and committed to be good to me in my sin, I can embrace repentance daily. Shoot, even hourly!
