Sermons About John
Who is Your Father?
As we open again to the gospel of John, chapter 8, we see the pride that the Jewish people had in their ancestry. When confronted about their sin and need for a Savior, they continually fell back on the idea that they were “children of Abraham.” The confrontation we find between Jesus and the unbelieving Jewish religious leaders reached this point of hostility back in John 5, when Jesus had the audacity to heal a lame man, crippled for 38 years, on the Sabbath.

The Pathway to Freedom
As Christians, we don’t believe truth is relative. Neither do we believe truth is a set of facts or principles. We don’t believe it’s an abstract idea. No, we believe truth is more than facts, more than principles. Truth is a personified in the very character of God: He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. Deuteronomy 32:4 (KJV)

How Does Jesus Respond to Failures?: A Look at the Life of Peter Many of us are afraid of what others would think about us if they really knew us—all of our secrets, hidden thoughts, and actions. This fear causes us to set up walls and keep certain parts of our lives private. But what about God? What does the God who sees everything about us think? How does the God who sees everything respond to our failures? Until we know how God responds to failures, we will never truly be able to trust him with our hearts. To answer this question I want to look at one of the biggest failures in the Bible and see how Jesus responds to him. His name is Peter and we will find that we are more like him than we might think.

Return to the Cross
The Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is the Scriptures. And if this is true, it is life and death. For those who dabble but don’t believe, Jesus won’t be here forever. There will be a day when it’s too late. When you’re face to face with Jesus and instead of beholding Him as your Savior, you’ll be looking into the eyes of your Judge. And you won’t be able to go where Jesus is.
