A Faith that Overcomes Fear
The challenges of life have a way of bringing to the surface our fears, insecurities, concerns, anxieties, uncertainties. What if we didn’t have to live in slavery to our fears? What if our faith could overcome our fears no matter what comes our way? If that kind of faith exists at all, we will find out about it in the Scripture, so let’s continue to learn from the life of Jacob and see if we can find some help.

Dealing with Misplaced Trusts
Let's face it, sometimes we would rather do things our way than enter into the process of realigning our desires to match God’s desires. In this sermon, we will look at the lives of four people who prefer to trust their senses, their appetites, their instincts, and their advisors to trusting God. Let's take a peek into their lives so that we may learn about our own.

Seeing Beyond the Moment
When we face important decisions, we often get fixated on momentary satisfaction or pleasure and miss out on God's best. Looking at the lives of Jacob and Esau, we see that our way often seems best at the time but rarely brings lasting satisfaction. If we are going to thrive in our spiritual journey, we must start by acknowledging that God’s way is better than our way.

Tested by Fire
Often the greatest times of spiritual growth, come as the result of suffering and pain. God's greatest gifts to us, come in the form of "subtractions" instead of "additions". We grow on the valley floor ... suffering drives us deep. The authentic faith - is one that has been tested by fire, and proven powerful and rich. IN our day of "easy-believism" when we expect only good from the hand of God, perhaps the greatest challenge to our faith and to our spiritual maturity is when the storms of life begin to howl. Finding Jesus in the midst of the storm and being able to praise Him despite our pain is one of the critical steps on the journey toward Spiritual Maturity. We might not at first consider these trials as "gifts" but these "severe gifts" may be the catalyst for incredible spiritual growth if we will lean into God's purpose in them. Key Passages: Job 2:10 and Isaiah 48:10

The Porch Light's On
"Home…" At it's very best, "home" is a place we all long for…a place that is safe…a place we are unconditionally loved…a place we can let our hair down and know that we will not offend….a state of being…secure…safe…at ease…."home". So many in our day have not experienced this kind of "home" in growing up, nor have they understood the offer of "home" that our heavenly Father extends to us. Instead of seeing a loving Father waiting at the door, they have feared an angry God. But the New Testament paints a much different picture of God – and maybe its an image you need to embrace. The image of the porch light being left on at night…the picture of a daddy worried sick as He waits for His runaway child to come home. The truth is, we are ALL runaways in our own way. Some of us have begun the journey home, others still need to turn around…but ultimately we walk the same path. Maybe it's time you headed for home. The porch light is on…the door is unlocked…the family is waiting! Key Passage: Luke 15:11-31

Living the 3 R's
A study of the wilderness journey. What is the purpose of a wilderness journey? What does God want you to learn when all you can see is sand? What should you be praying for? What helpful requests do you make to God? If you pass the test do you graduate from the wilderness and never go back? These questions will be explored in the message this morning.

Psalm 121
When we come to God all our problems are solved… Right? When we embark on relationship with the Almighty, one thing we can absolutely count on is that all our problems, all our “issues†all the hard parts of life get solved, smoothed out… dealt with. And should we find pain or difficulty or suffering in our lives? That’s a sure sign that God has left us, has rejected us, is in fact punishing us…

The Journey of Faith
23 By faith Moses' parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel. 29 By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
