Never Be Satisfied
The problem that many of us face is the fact that we are content with things which we should be discontent and we are discontent where we should be content. Spiritually, this misplaced contentment is dangerous. Covetousness destroys our relationships and our own souls in a relentless search for fulfillment in all the wrong things. You will never be satisfied with anything unless God is satisfied with you and you are satisfied in God through Jesus.

Say Whatever You Want
So far in our series we’ve seen that “God resists the proud but gives grace the humble” (1 Peter 5:5), that “the anger of man doesn’t work the righteousness of God” (James 1:20), and that we should resolve conflict quickly or we will give the devil an opportunity (Eph 4:27). Today we take up the subject of how we talk, and I really hope to help you prayerfully think through the impact of words upon your relationships. Words after all don’t have to wound; they can bless, encourage, and heal. The tongue is a powerful tool of good and evil. It can be a restless evil or a reservoir of encouragement.

Live with Unresolved Conflict
We are in the middle of a series on relationships, and we learning how much the Bible says about how we are to conduct ourselves with people. Our world is filled with conflict, and the Bible calls followers of Jesus to be counter-cultural when it comes to conflict. Imagine what it would be like to have relationships that are characterized by peace. That is God’s desire for those who know Jesus. He wants to show the world the powerful and practical difference that the gospel brings.

Messiah's Mission: Suffering, then Glory
Using two stories, Luke shows his readers just how easy it is to replace Jesus' agenda with our own, and attempt to evade suffering on the road to glory. But, kingdom power only flows when kingdom priorities are maintained. Following Jesus will mean suffering through life in a broken world, always held fast by the promise of heaven's glory.
