The King Has Come
Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday as many things, as the Prophet who had done miracles and preached the Kingdom of God, As the Passover Lamb who was to be brought into the home for close inspection, and as the King of Grace offering salvation to all who would truly bend the knee to Him. Of the millions who were there on that day, most cried out Hosanna and called Him the King, the Son of David yet they were not aware of what Kind of King He really was. They had merely heard of His miracles and His fame and hoped to be delivered from the tyranny of the Roman Empire. Within the week they will be shouting "Crucify Him!" Others, like the Pharisees where dead set against Him. Only a handful were ready to accept Him for who He actually was. What a picture of humanity and how it receives the King of Kings.

Prepare for the King, pt. 2 (Matthew 3:1-6)
The ministry of John the Baptist was to prepare the way for the King and the kingdom by calling the people to repentance. This week we will see that the call to repentance was founded on the announcement of the kingdom, which is only entered by those willing to deal with their sin. This morning: The Weight and Response to the Call of Repentance: 1 - The Foundation of the Call: The Announcement of the Kingdom. 2 - The Response to the Call: Commitment and Confession.

Kingdom Demonstrations
The King and His Kingdom, Pt 2: In this sermon, we see that Jesus announcement that "the kingdom of God is at hand" (Mark 1:15) was more than just words. He backed it up with kingdom demonstrations that showed that he was ushering in a new reality.

Your Year For God's Kingdom
As we consider resolutions and goals for 2009, we are struck with the guilt of failed past resolutions and the inner desire to see that we are growing. The key is to make goals and resolutions that you know God will bless. Jesus’ ministry gives us two resolutions that we all should have for 2009. Plus, it shows us how we can ensure that our progress in these resolutions will last.

Now Serving Number 490
Who is the greatest? Are those with the most titles the most important or is it those that serve others? Does greatness even matter? Does Jesus care how many titles you have or if you are working toward kingdom things? And what is the role of the church in figuring this all out?
