Sermons About Last-day
Do Not Be Alarmed
Living in an age of great anxiety that we do, Jesus' words of what will precede his coming again are frequently misunderstood. Jesus' words in Mark 13 (the Little Apocalypse) are not intended to cause alarm, but to help God's people be prepared and ready for the things leading up to the last day, that God's people may be knowledgeable of the truth, and not be filled with anxiety and alarm. The Lord Jesus who loves us and gave his life for us promises to be with his people to strengthen and sustain them until He comes again.

Last Things to Consider
The beauty of Covenant Theology is that is concisely presents an eschatology that veers from the spectacular and "crossed-referenced." Even if someone determines not to embrace Covenant Theology, there are four aspects of Biblical interpretation that must be addressed before advocating an eschatological scheme. Those four components are: 1 - Remembering the epistles were written to a first century audience 2 - The New Testament only knows two ways in which to mark time: The Already & the Not Yet 3 - When the New Testament describes the components of the Last Day, it always happens on One FINAL Day 4 - Jesus told his Bride to look for "signs" of his return (Maranatha!)

Awake!
We struggle to follow Christ's command to keep awake in life, and not just last at night! In Advent, he calls us to look ahead in excited expectation for the day when he returns -- the great day of the coming of the Son of Man.

Until Jesus Comes Again
As God's people who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, we anticipate Jesus' coming again not with fear, but with expectant joy. On that great and final day, Christ the King will be revealed in all his power and glory - very different from his first coming, and he will judge the world in righteousness. The good works of his redeemed people will stand as evidence of their faith in Him who gave his life for them. Until Jesus comes again, our response of faith is to manage wisely and faithfully all of God's gifts, holding fast in faith to Jesus, our Shepherd King.
