Sermons About Law
Jesus the Revolutionary
A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, "a turnaround") is a significant change that usually takes place in a short period of time. Jesus called people to join his revolution through the word “repent”, which also means to turn around, to see things differently, and take action accordingly. The Gospel is the Good News message that God became one of us to SHOW US his love, SAVE US from sin, SHUT DOWN religion, and SET UP his Kingdom. Key Passage: Mark 1:15

The Gospel Frees Us From Guilt
“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Once you understand the value of Jesus’ sacrifice, your notion of freedom is forever changed. You’ll discover that the most freeing thing in the world is to give yourself over entirely to the one you love, and this is exactly what happens in the gospel. The good news about Jesus is that he grants us freedom from our toughest struggles, our deepest scars, our strongest doubts, and our biggest fears. When you find Jesus, you find true freedom. ___________________________ The 3rd of 10 sermons in the Emancipation Proclamation Series at Remnant Church in Richmond, Virginia.

True Righteousness & Sexual Purity (Matthew 5:27-30)
The Lord gives a 2nd anti-thesis and counters the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees with the the true righteousness of the kingdom and to which the Law pointed. Namely, that God is not concerned with external but with the inner reality of a transformed nature; a new heart that hungers and thirst for righteousness, and particular, as the Lord will address this morning, in the area of sexual purity. As with the previous section the Lord will give a clear statement followed by 2 examples, showing that: True righteousness identifies sexual sin in the heart and seeks to turn from it at all cost. From the Lord’s statement we will note: 2 necessary elements to winning the battle of sexual purity: (1) the need to identify the sin and (2) the need to pursue sanctification.

The Heart Of The Gospel: The Self-Substitution of God
