Why Some Christians Don't Grow
Every parent knows how important it is for his or her child to grow up and they get very concerned if they detect anything out of the ordinary when it pertains to their physical growth. We have all sorts of monitors and measurements for physical growth and we are very conscientious about using them. However, has it ever occurred to you that God, Pastors, Sunday School teachers and even your brothers and sisters in Christ are just as interested in your spiritual growth. We also have certain criteria by which we measure and monitor progress. And when a believer does not grow, we get concerned and well we should. So the question we ask when our child has a certain physical abnormality is, Doctor, why is my child not growing? We want to pose that same question and answer it from the Scriptures.

Resources (Please turn over) Helpful Resources: Books: ‘No more Christian nice guy’ -Paul Coughlin Paul writes boldly about how the church has feminised Jesus over the years. He helps us to see once again that Jesus is actually a strong man! A man who argued, a man who fought for what is right. A man who wasn’t scared a man who wasn’t lazy. A man who loved us so much that he gave his life for us. The second half of the book goes into detail about how a lot of us men have become ‘nice’ and that ‘nice’ is actually a sin, because of it's affect on our walk as Christians. There’s a section also, about godly habits and encouragement on how to continue the life of a Christian man ‘Disciplines of a Godly man’ -R. Kent Hughes This book is great for learning about who you are as a man and what areas in your life you need to change in order to be more Godly. This book is a must read and a great book to read as a group and praying with one another after each chapter. ‘Calling Christian Leaders’ -John Stott Typically, John Stott writes a theological account on what Christian leadership should look like in a church, using 1 Corinthians chapter 1 to 4. It’s written for men who are in a more mature role in the church, like a pastor or an elder. But still a great read for those guys who aren’t. Sermon Review Reverse Engineering Your Life -Mark Driscoll This sermon is a must to listen to! I won’t spoil it for you here, Ill just say that you HAVE to listen to it!
