Sermons About Legacy
Participation and Progress
God has always intended that His people would so love Him, so trust Him, and so respond to His grace that they would show Him off to each other and this world. They’re to be a display people, a people that tell the world what He’s like by living in such a way that provokes questions and curiosity about the God they love and are loved by. This is what the book of Nehemiah is about. This is the real mission of Nehemiah. This is the real work of God. He wants to revive and restore what has been destroyed by doubt, fear, hopelessness, apathy, and injustice so that the world would know He’s a God who rebuilds what Adam and Eve and you and I have torn down.

Leaving a Legacy
Practicing "NO Trace" camping is a good idea. Practicing "NO Trace" living is a bad idea. As believers in Jesus Christ we are to make an impact on the people and world around us. Leaving a legacy that points people to Christ means that we must live a legacy that points people to Christ. The very personal opening words of the this letter to the young pastor Timothy from the Apostle Paul reveals how to live and leave a Godly legacy.

Leave a Legacy

What's In Your Last Lecture?
Randy Pausch captured the hearts of America with his book, "The Last Lecture". Faced with his eminent death, Randy compiled all that was important to him in an effort to leave his three young children a picture of who he was and how he thought. God's word encourages each of us to do the same. Randy put on a sprint at the end of his life to accomplish the task, Let's see what God's word has to say about making our legacy a daily part of living, instead of a part of our dying.

Ruth 4.13-22
As the story of Ruth comes to a close, the camera pulls back from the love story of Boaz and Ruth and revisits the plight of Naomi. When she left for Moab, she was full of family, future, and hope. When she returned from Moab she was bitter, broken, and empty - and childless. But God has not left her, and in his love for her has orchestrated the marriage of Boaz and Ruth so that they could give birth to a grandson who would refresh her soul. The camera then pulls back even further, and we see that this son, Obed, becomes the father of Jesse, who in turn becomes the father of the great King David!

A Multi-generational Promise/Mother's Day
Every one of us wants to have a lasting impact in our world, don't we? Whether you are a Mom, Dad, Grandparent, aunt, uncle or whatever role you fill, we all want to leave a legacy for those who come after us. In HIs Word God gives us a specific promise of hope and a future. But to fully understand this promise we need to completely know the context in which this promise was made, and when we know the context we will see that this was a multi-generational promise. And when we choose to be obedient, we will be people who leave a rich legacy to the generations that follow us.
