Sermons About Levi
Jesus and the Sinners
In chapter 5, there are several stories about Jesus coming in contact with people who were sinners. Jesus shows us in each encounter that He came for the sick (physically but especially spiritually). Jesus loves sinners. He came to forgive them and make them whole again. In each of the stories, those who believed Him saw their neediness and sins; they were cleansed and forgiven. Jesus has the authority to forgive sins. We can (and need to) wholly trust Him and be forgiven.

1: These are the sons of Israel; Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun, 2: Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. 3: The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he slew him. 4: And Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five. 5: The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul. 6: And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all. 7: And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.

He ate with Sinners
Missionaries aren't just the folks who move overseas into another culture; Jesus was the first missionary, and He asks all of us to be missionaries, too, right where we are. Jesus also balanced perfectly living in the world, but not of the world. He didn't let the world contaminate Him; rather, He was the ultimate world changer.

Living Without the Call
This message looks at how the call of God acts in our lives as a catalyst, reacting to who we are with Who God is in us to create explosive power. This is much like Mentos is to Diet Coke. We see how Jesus call to Levi in Luke chapter 5 illustrates this, and how we are called to be like Levi.

In this sermon, week 1, we'll be looking at how Jesus invites us all to follow him, and why we should accept his invitation with all our hearts.

Eating with Jesus Part 1
The first disciples of Jesus were asked, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" They did so because they were followers of Jesus and that is what Jesus did. This leads to the question, "Why did Jesus eat with tax collectors and sinners?" Answering this question provides followers of Jesus in everygeneration a framework for understanding Jesus and his mission as well as the mission of all his disciples. (Read)

Jesus Christ Our Great High Priest: As Compared With Earthly Priests
From our text this morning, Hebrews 5:1-10, I want you to see two ways in which Christ is superior in His priesthood thus making obsolete the old order of Levitical Priests. 1. Christ is superior in His priesthood because of His lineage which makes the old order obsolete. 2. Christ is superior in His priesthood because of His work which makes the old order obsolete.

Keeping Bad Company
Someone once said that you can always tell a person by the company they keep. And like most sayings, that is only partially true because you may not know the motives of that person! Sometimes keeping bad company can be a good thing!
