The Race
The Christian life is often compared to a race... make that a marathon! The starting gun has gone, and it's time to run! Others have run this race before us... but only One has won this race, and we are to keep our eyes focused on Him - Jesus! Going Past Mile 20
Marathon runners tell us that one of the greatest obstacles to finishing a race is mile 20. Many runners refer to mile 20 as half way through the race because of the difficulty in completing the last 6.2 miles. The Christian life requires perseverance because doing the will of God involves times of hardship. However, in our North American culture it tends to be too easy to retreat and live a "safe" Christianity. Are you willing to really get into the race? Key Passage: Hebrews 10:19-39

Critical Questions - Part2
Mark shares about the importance of living for Christ. From John Ortberg's, The Life You've Always Wanted: "The good news as Jesus preached it is that now it is possible for ordinary men and women to live in the presence and under the power of God. The good news as Jesus preached it is not about the minimal entrance requirements for getting into heaven when you die. It is about the glorious redemption of human life - YOUR LIFE. After reading this there are 2 questions that we need to ask ourselves. Question 1: Do you beleive that such a life is possible for you? Question 2: How do I come to possess such a life?

John 6:59-71 The Hard Sayings of Jesus Pt. 2
When Jesus looses the majority of his followers his disciples were grumbling and complaining that the words were too “hard†(“sklaros†hard, offensive, harsh). Christ asks them, “Does this offend you?†The word He used for offend is “skandalizo†(we get our word “scandalous†from this Greek root) and means stumbling block. Jesus isn’t afraid to offend humanity to prove a point. Would our Mega Church Preachers do the same?
