Purity
As part of our "Matthew: On Earth as it is in Heaven" series, Chris Carr teaches "Purity" from Matthew 5:27-30.
Lust To Purity
Make no mistake, sex is powerful. The advertising industry has known that for a long time. It’s about time the church recognise this truth as well. The key is how you’ll direct that powerful force. This message examines Joseph and his temptation with Potiphar’s wife to understand more fully how lust attacks, and more importantly, how it can be overcome.
Love, Sex, and Marriage
In this Sunday morning sermon, Pastor Jared tackles some tough issues concerning love vs lust, sexual relationships in the proper context, and marriage defined biblically.
Kindom Living - Lust
Since Jesus has blessed the pure in heart, his disciples are to passionately pursue purity.
Resolve to be Perfect
There are people in our lives that seem perfect. But we know better: no one's perfect. Yet, Jesus is calling his people to be perfect just as God is perfect. Does Jesus really expect us to be perfect? How do we even seek to be perfect? Listen as pastor Jody Sledge challenges us to understand Jesus' command and resolve to be perfect.
Virtue of Self-Control
Self-control is the second on the list of Christian virtues given by Peter (2 Peter 1:5-7). Sadly, the modern man misunderstands God's mastery and the weakness of his flesh. We cannot stop eating Lays potato chips or stay focused long enough to memorize Scripture. Peter expects Christians to develop an self-control as they surrender their whole selves (body, mind, will) to Jesus.
Graves of Craving
Murmuring and complainging - not a very encouraging atmosphere, and an even less desireable outcome. Such was the case for the children of Israel. Although this was not the first time they complained, it was the last time for a number of them. The place was Kilbrothhataavah, an unusual name with a rather telling meaning - graves of craving. That's where the discontent ended up - in graves of craving. The symptoms of discontent transcend the years - it has the same characteristics today as it did long ago. In this holiday season the advertisers do their best to create a sense of discontentment. Beware, lest you too end up in a grave of craving.
