The Work of the Mission
That God would, through Nehemiah, record their names for us to read some 2,500 years later is amazing. How many of you believe that when you stick around and stack chairs, God is going remember your work for the next two and a half millennium? He takes average Joes and Janes and lifts up their work and says, “I know the work you’ve done and I will remember it for eternity.” So many of us think that our contribution is simply too small to matter. But this is the opposite of what God is showing us by preserving this list. He’s saying, “It may not matter to anyone else, but it matters to Me!” You might be quietly working behind the scenes without any recognition, but the only eyes of the universe that matter are upon you and He won’t forget.

This Beautiful Mess - Everyone Matters
In this series we look at what it means to call REUNION your church. Instead of offering membership, Jesus simply extended an invitation to live in His Kingdom. In the first installment, we look at how people come first in the kingdom, and at REUNION.

Christian Liberty: Handling Those Disputable Matters
The heart of this freedom letter tells us that we are free in Jesus Christ. But what does this freedom mean? How is it lived out? What does Christian liberty look like in the church? Today in the Word we will be looking at the issue of how we deal with what Romans 14 calls “disputable mattersâ€. The truth is, there was division over disputable matters in the early church in Rome. Part of Paul’s purpose for writing this letter to the Romans was to get them back on track. For us, the truth is, we still wrestle with this very issue. What is it that causes divisions in the church? So often it is in the area of non-essentials—the disputable matters.

Priceless Photos... Valuing Life from the Cradle to the Grave
If the Bible is correct, then you and I are far from accidental. We have intrinsic value because we are made Imago Dei – in the Image of God. And the truth is, you will never know who you are until you know who’s you are. Your value, and the value of those around you, will never ultimately be found in the world’s eyes, but through God’s. It’s our prayer that God will change how you see yourself, and change how you see everyone else around you. He wants us to realize the priceless photos we come in contact with everyday, from the cradle to the grave and everywhere in between. Key Passage: Genesis 1:26-27

One Picture is Worth 1,000 Words
Whether "never-married", divorced, widowed or otherwise "single-again", over 40% of the North America adult population is single. When the church teaches and emphasizes the critical role of the "family", we often forget to talk to this huge population who are not currently married. While the Bible upholds the sanctity of marriage and promotes a healthy family life as the key unit of society, it also has much encouragement to individuals who are not married. The unique contribution that a single person can give for the glory of God makes it a life worth celebrating and exploiting. Rather than seeing singleness as "2nd best", can we celebrate the gifts and opportunities God gives to those who are doing life "solo?" Key Passage: 1 Corinthians 7:32

Our Family Album
Central to all human relationships is the foundation of mutual respect and honour. This "valuing" from one person to another may be seen no more clearly than in the relationship between the generations. When parents bless and honour their children, and when children in turn show reverence and respect toward, not only their parents, but ALL older people, it lays the foundation for a society where strong relationships are the norm. Rip respect and honour from the culture, and chaos and anarchy soon reign. Who would have thought that disobedience to parents could carry such far-reaching effects ... but as goes the family, so goes the culture... Key Passage: Leviticus 19:32

Life After the Storm
If we are going to reach out with the love of Jesus to the community around us we will not be able to avoid the topic of divorce. All of us have been affected either directly or indirectly by the breakdown of the family, and we desperately need to understand HOW to respond to a broken, hurting world. Unfortunately, a marriage failure often brings a "double whammy" in that there is first the very real pain of the breakup, and secondly, an equally great pain that the church does not know how to respond. May God give us grace to learn. Key Passage: Psalm 34:18

Little Eyes Are Watching
This week we’re focusing on the sobering reality that the church of Jesus is really never more than one generation away from extinction. Of all that we try to pass along to our children, the passionate pursuit of Jesus Christ should be the top of our list... yet so often it doesn’t appear to be our number one priority. How about you? Little eyes are always watching. Do they see in you the Jesus you would want them to see? Key Passage: Deuteronomy 6:7-9
