The Authentic Christ (Matthew 4:23-25)
It is interesting when we go to the store to see the labels that say: “100% natural” “No artificial ingredients” “Made with real meat” We have, as a culture, become so artificial that we need assurance of authenticity. So it is in the spiritual realm. Satan is a mastermind of illusion and imitation of reality. We need to know that the One in whom we are commanded to believe is the real deal, that He is authentic. And such is the point of Matthew. Jesus authenticates His Messiahship through the ministry of teaching, preaching, and healing.
