Jesus tells a story that on the surface seems confusing and even unfair. Through the telling of the story Jesus helps us understand that God is never unfair. He may be more merciful than we even imagine, but God is always fair in all that he does.

Ina world that so desperately needs to SEE the tangible expressions of the kingdom of God coming to reign, there may be no more powerful expression of the profound impact of God's grace in our lives, than the ability to offer, to give, and to receive forgiveness. Jesus reprimanded the "religious" of His own day, and told them that the "kingdom" would be given to those who would produce its "fruit". Forgiveness flourishes in the kingdom of God! There is not a person in this world that has not been sinned against, and the question of the child of God is very basic: can you offer the same forgiveness to others that God has offered to you? Comfort in the Midst of Suffering
These verses from Hebrews 2:5-18 provide us two reasons why we can trust in Christ in the midst of suffering because of His humanity. 1. We can trust Christ in the midst of suffering because He has already tasted death on our behalf. 2. We can trust Christ in the midst of suffering because He is our great High Priest.
