Switch Plans - It's Time to Grow
Pastor Ginger Medley delivers today's sermon, using biblical reference from Jerermiah 29:11, "for I know the plans I have for you...". Our Plans plus God Plans equals a Hot Mess. If we practice these key points, we can follow God's plan: 1) Grow Resources; 2) Grow Relationships; and 3) Grow Reputations.
Building Relationships Series - Part 2 - The Mess in Relationships
The Mess in Relationships is Part 2 of the Building Relationships series, preached by Pastor Rudy Bropleh. Using Galatians 2:1-14 as a reference for this sermon we learn that whenever we are building anything, we have to be willing and skilled to make adjustments ---thus in our relationships with each other and with God. However, we allow obstacles --which create a mess in our lives--to get in the way. There are 3 things (obstacles): 1) Misinformation - not having the right information. We really DO have the right info --in the Gospel of Christ --so we need to be more informed and get the right information. 2) Misunderstanding - we have the right information; wrong interpretation. We want to be free to interpret the Word of Christ to suit our own situation, but it doesn't work like that. We have to respect God's word --the Cornerstone of building anything --particularly relationships. 3) Ego - we let our ego get in tthe way of building relationships. We need to humble ourselves and be willing to SERVE with spritual qualifications. 4) Hipocrasy - one of the greatest killers of relationships. We need to be our "real" selves ---all the time; be authentic.
Take Sin Seriously
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, 6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 “Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes! 8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.
