Sermons About Mission
Acts 16:11-40 - Choosing Mission Over Comfort
Paul and Silas brought the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Philippi, where their ministry ended up inciting a mob and getting them beaten and thrown in prison. While in prison God miraculously freed Paul and Silas from their cells and their jailor came to faith in Christ. Paul and Silas were able to persevere through such difficult circumstances because they were more concerned with the good news about Jesus being told than they were with their own comfort, so much so that they could even sing and pray while chained up deep in a Roman prison, and we too should pursue the mission of sharing the Gospel over our own comfort.

Messiah's Mission: Suffering, then Glory
Using two stories, Luke shows his readers just how easy it is to replace Jesus' agenda with our own, and attempt to evade suffering on the road to glory. But, kingdom power only flows when kingdom priorities are maintained. Following Jesus will mean suffering through life in a broken world, always held fast by the promise of heaven's glory.

Following After Jesus
Having seen firsthand that Jesus was a miracle worker, the disciples now affirm that He is "the Christ of God." But, just what will it mean to follow this One? In contrast to the popular view of Messiah and His mission, Jesus declares that His mission will mean His death, and that those who follow Him must willingly have their lives shaped by the cross.

We bless the churches around usand join in the spirit of a united mission for the cause of Christ. I do believe we have a unique call of God to share his message in a culterally relevant way that impacts this community and reaches out to the unchurched and calls the nominal Christians to spiritual renewal.

Acts 13:13-52 - Prepared and Gifted to Serve
Paul was prepared and gifted by God for his missionary journeys throughout the Roman Empire. His Roman citizenship and years as a Jewish Pharisee gave him the ability to speak to both groups of people effectively, and the Holy Spirit gifted Paul with the ability to teach and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ with power, boldness, and clarity. In the same way God has prepared and gifted each of us to contribute to the work of spreading the Gospel, and there is great joy in serving God in the way that He has prepared us to do.
