Saving for a Rainy Day
How many of you aspire to retire with no savings and nothing to live off of except Social Insecurity if it’s even around by then? It is ironic that in one of the most affluent countries in the world we’ve got people that retire broke all the time living off of a small S.S. check. Most companies no longer have the set-up where you work there for so long and then collect a pension after you retire. Statistics say that very few American households have even $1,000 saved in a bank account. When an emergency happens we remember the motto, “Life takes VISA”. We spend as if there is no tomorrow and while that may sound fun and be fun it’s stupid! I’ve got an expert authority on this that agrees: Proverbs 21:20- “The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get.”

Lost: A Sudden Realization
When it comes to personal finances, it is easy to be lost and not even know it. Some of us start off with bad maps or perhaps take an accidental wrong turn or maybe get distracted by something we think we need. Whatever the reason, once we realize we are lost, how can we find our way back? The task can be daunting, but the good news is that God has given us clear directions to guide the way. In this 5-part series, Buck will walk us through some of Jesus’ counter-cultural teachings about money management and reveals the truth that we can’t wholeheartedly follow Christ when we’re lost financially. That’s why Jesus said more about this subject than any other.

In$ide Out
Some of the most destructive opposition we will face in our lives does not come at us from the outside. The insidious nature that is found on the inside will destroy much more quickly. In Nehemiah chapter 5 we find that God's chosen people are imploding with sin from the Inside out. The catalyst for the sin is the love of money. If we are going to see God build his church and his kingdom then his people are going to need to be transformed from the Inside Out.
