In Proverbs 31:30, we see two kinds of women contrasted. First, we are warned to beware the charming and beautiful woman. For, some women use the good and desirable qualities of charm and beauty to cover-up selfish motives. Second, since the fear of the Lord is of far greater value than charm and beauty, we are exhorted to praise women who fear the Lord. For, these women are a blessing to the Lord, other people, and even themselves.

Today is the day we celebrate motherhood. Since 1914, Mother’s Day has been a recognized day for the celebration of motherhood. For many, it is a reminder of good times, the kindness and tenderness of their mother, a household filled with love and joy. For others, it is a sad time because of infertility, wayward children, or the loss of their own mother. It is truly a day of mixed emotions for many. Yet there is a new generation of mothers that are being raised up right now. They are being taught what it means to be a mother. But what are they learning? Are they be giving the tools needed to be successful in the very challenging world of motherhood? Today, we talk about how to raise a new generation of mothers in light of God’s creative design and plan for life in this world.
