Sermons About Mountain
Hike to the Mountain Top
Some say he was a good man. Some say he was just a teacher. Some say he had paranormal powers. Some say he was a myth. Some say he was the Son of God. A lot of people say a lot of things about Jesus. But who is he really, and what relevance does a man who lived 2000 years ago have on us today? In the midst of the chaotic holiday season, the story of Jesus seems to get lost in the hustle and bustle. But if you listen; if you really quiet your soul and listen, he is calling out to you. He is asking you the same thing he asked his disciples to do: "Follow Me." That's it. But that will cost you everything. Join us as we journey through the life of Jesus from Nazareth to Calvary.

Sunday Sermon for Week 14-09
The theological understanding of the day regarding Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem said that Jesus was the triumphant King coming to liberate the Jewish people from Roman rule. Jesus on the other hand saw it as fulfillment of His mission of the salvation for the world. He came to this time and place to die for the people who are expecting Him to become their earthly king.

Going Up to Come Down
Hiking up a mountain is an exhilarating experience, and helps give us perspective. Jesus goes up a mountain with Peter, James, and John and is transfigured before them as his heavenly glory and splendor are revealed for a fleeting moment. Jesus goes up the mountain only to come back down again - back down to set his face toward Jerusalem, and go up another mountain, Mount Calvary, and to the cross where he would pay the price of his own life for our sin.. It's very tempting for us to stay up on the mount of transfiguration, but we follow Jesus back down to the valley, knowing that he leads us forth to new life.

Speak to the mountain
Summary: Our words are what we use to attack the enemy. When we say what God says to our enemies, it’s like shooting bullets at them. When we talk the problem, it’s like throwing cookies at them. Our words are the bullet, our mouth is the gun, but love is the firing pin. We have got to get God’s word in our mouth and fire at the enemy that’s standing in our way. We have to speak to the mountain. Don’t ask God to do anything about it, stop crying about it. Stop talking about how big it is, stop telling everyone you meet that will listen to you how big it is, and speak to it. Command it to go!

Elijah The Prophet God took home
Elijah went from the mountain to the valley. God was there the entire time and eventually took him home. We have the same home of eternal life with God,because of what Christ Jesus did for us on the cross.
