Sermons About Name
Named
What's in a name? Significance? Love? Recapturing a memory? Maybe it's your grandpa's heritage or your mom's favorite aunt. Could be a biblical hero or a forgotten saint? Perhaps it's from a land far away or a character that's close to home. It could even be Hope, Faith, or Grace. Last year, in BC, there were 283 baby boys given the name Ethan. Interestingly enough, of the roughly 22,000 boys born last year not even one was named "Friend of Sinners." Key Passage: John 7:37-38

Resisting The Devil Part 2
Three major weapons against Satan. The Name of Jesus, Word of God, Blood of Christ. Jesus has complete control over all demons, they know his Name and who He is. “If you continue in me and my sayings continue in you, ask what you will and it shall be done for you". "You will ask the Father in my name, and I won’t have to ask him for you." Do you believe the Word? If you do, then when you accept Him you are saved. The Word of God changes the impossible to the possible. In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Blood of Christ is a shielding Blood. It saves us completely from the insinuations and accuations of the enemy the Devil.

Hallowed Be Your Name
The name of God is familiar to almost everyone. In fact, it may be one of the most commonly used words in the English language. It has become sort of verbal punctuation mark for everything from surprise to disgust, from joy to anger. Most of the time, people probably do not even think about what they are saying, or what other people are saying. But should the name of God be used so frequently and so lightly? Is God worthy of more than that? Can we use God’s name in one minute to express anger, and the next to ask him for help? Jesus addressed God’s name in his model prayer by saying “Hallowed by your name.” While “hallowed” is a word we do not use much, the idea is certainly one that we understand because it simply means to pray respectfully, understanding the God whose name we are calling on. As we continue our teaching on the subject of prayer from the mouth of Jesus himself, this morning we focus on the name of the Lord, and how the Lord’s name should be used in prayer.

Worthy Suffering (Acts 5:12-42)
The question we face is not if we will suffer, or when, but how we will suffer. We need to be worthy sufferers. Acts 5 provides a stunning example of worthy suffering as the Apostles face opposition, threats, and a possible death penalty for preaching in the name of Jesus.
