Green
God’s command to fill the earth and subdue it was intended not only as a provision, but also as a responsibility. It is the church with its God mandated commission to be stewards of creation that should be leading the “green” discussion. Unfortunately the church has allowed the world to take control of the agenda of the discussion. Much of the agenda of the “green” movement has elevated those things created on days one through five to a higher value than those created on day six. It is here that Christians need to reassume their rightful place in the discussion, take seriously the charge that we are to be stewards of the environment, with the understanding that while all of creation was declared good by God, only one part was created in his image, and that was man.
