Loving Your Neighbor Is Good Enough
Mythbusters is a six week series which debunks common misconceptions about living the Christian life by examining what Jesus taught during the Sermon on the Mount. Do No Harm: Hands
Though we have freedom in Christ, Paul admonishes us to "reign in" that freedom, not for our conscience's sake, but for the sake of others' conscience. Do no harm.

Do No Harm: Eyes
How often are like the Levite or the priest - that though we see someone in need, we choose to ignore them? Jesus commands us to follow the Samaritan's example by responding as we are able to the needs of our neighbors when they present themselves....and thus do no harm with our eyes.

Loving the Unlovely
This pattern of message and mercy go hand and hand in the New Testament as a way of showing to the world the truth of the gospel. Gospel mercy becomes a non-verbal way of showing the gospel message is true. In Jesus’ mind the two go hand in hand and should never be separated, even if in our minds they are not joined. If the gospel message is true, that God has had great mercy upon us, then gospel mercy to others should become a natural response.

Do Good: Neighbor
So often it is easy for us to get distracted in the many forms our religion takes, but Amos reminds us that God does not care as much about our "festivals" and loud thanksgivings, but that we do justice and show mercy toward one another.

Silencing The Critics
When we criticize or judge others we hurt one another, we are judging the Law, we are playing 'god' and exalting ourselves. James makes it very clear that as believers, we are not to speak evil against one another and that there is only one Judge and Lawgiver.

Love does no wrong
If we’re in love, we do no wrong, if we do wrong, we’re not in love. Our fight is not with flesh and blood, or in other words, people. We are to fight the good fight against the devil and all his demons. We are to love people, no matter what they do to us. Love places no demands of anyone other than itself. Love takes the first step. God has given us the love necessary to love like this. Love does for others regardless of what they can do for us. We owe everyone to love them.

Psalm 1: Immersed
Psalm 1 speaks of happy people who delight themselves in the law of God. The Psalm writer says these people are like trees planted near living water. In his sermon, Pastor Jason reminds us of what Jesus says are the two greatest commandments: to love God and to love your neighbor. If we delight ourselves in God's law, focusing on these two central commandments, we will be immersed in God's living water--a source for our continued outreach and compassion to others.

What Kind of Neighbor are You?
The story of the Good Samaritan is very well-known. But have you ever considered why the priest and Levite did not stop to help one of their fellow Jews? What would you have done? We all tend to apply "labels" to various groups of people, but God wants us to get rid of our labeling system.
