The story of Nicodemus is powerful because Jesus spoke truth into the life of a man who was deeply religious. He was a teacher of Israel and no doubt he was a good man. Yet he still needed to be born again. People today still need the same thing. We must be born again.
We need not change to come to Jesus, Jesus changes us when we come to him.
Sometimes we are tempted to believe that the fault for sin must lie with someone or something else. but we are capable of sinning all on our own. But! God has a plan for us.

In Mark 2:13-15 we see that: The Master Calls Sinners Personally and Powerfully. In v. 13 we see our Master’s personal mercy. In v. 14 we hear the Master call authoritatively. In vs. 14b-15 we see evidence of the Master’s calling.
