The Word Is a Person
The word “nurture“ means “to care for and encourage the growth of.“ It takes a person to provide nurture--not a book. To be nurtured in the Word means to receive care and encouragement from the person of Jesus Himself who is the “Word“ in the first chapter of John. This is part of the sanctification process--a lifelong process of nurture by Jesus through the Holy Spirit that He promised to send.
