Sermons about Obstacles
Last Sunday we talked about 3DF – Three Dimensional Fellowship! God longs to see His children experience 3DF, a three way deep meaningful connection between you, others, and God! But there are many potential obstacles. Our passage today helps us understand how to build 3DF.
Associate Pastor Ginger Medley uses 1 Samuel 17:28-35; 45-47 to emphasize that our weapons are mighty within and the battle is the Lord's. Fear hinders our relationships and it empowers the enemy. We must overcome fear with faith! When you are looking for a solution to a problem, there are going to be obstacles, but you have choices.
As God's people, we are called upon to remember life apart from the Lord in the past in contrast to having the Lord's presence with us in the present. This is no small matter! For, the God who is with us is the God before whom the immovable Sea and River retreated. This is the the God before whom the unshakable mountains shook. This is the God before whom the hard, lifeless stone turned into pools of living water. This is the God before whom the last enemy to be defeated, death itself, was defeated. This is the God who is with His people. Even though we are powerless in ourselves and charged to carry out an impossible mission, we can serve the Lord with confidence, engaging insurmountable obstacles with faith. For the God who majors in the impossible is the God who is with us... and that makes all the difference in the world!
Apart from Jesus, we’re hopeless. But his power elicits from us a faith that trusts him for all things for all time and eternity.
Guest speaker, Jon tells his inspiring story of overcoming personal obstacles.
God often takes us to a place of human impossibilities so that he can work in powerful ways and get the glory. When God moves, he wants us to turn those impossible challenges and obstacles into memorable monuments to his power.
