The Right Way and Wrong Way
In Luke 14 we see Jesus offering the gift of salvation to anyone and everyone who will come! And then in the last section of the chapter we read about loving God ultimately and taking up our crosses and following Jesus!
A Body to Offer
During O.T. days, a Man could pay the debt of his Kinsman or relative. A slave could be redeemed by his brother or cousin. Jesus had to be our relative, a man, a man with a body to offer.
Freely and Cheerfully Given
Everything on the Earth belongs to God, and He has given us our possessions as gifts, so we should worship Him with these gifts by managing them well and giving them freely towards His kingdom. We should not give out of guilt but instead we should pray about how much we should give and then cheerfully contribute to God's work.
