Sermons About One
Don't Walk Alone
In the last evening before His crucifixion Jesus placed the mantel of responsibility on His followers to impact the world for the glory of God. There were two defining values at the core of His instruction: that they would LOVE one another, and that they would BE ONE. The unity and the community of the family of God, is not only our greatest gift to the world, but also our greatest battle strategy against the enemy. So why is “community” such a struggle? Key Passage: Acts 4:32

God Is One
In what sense can we understand that God is one? What does it mean when we say that "God is one"? We know that there is one God, but in essence and nature, he is both three and one. We also know that God is one in His ability (by His holiness and omnipotence), fully sovereign over all things; and that He is one in purpose. The most striking purpose is presented throughout the entire bible—the redemption of fallen man! The one true God (all three persons of the trinity included) works together for and in the believer for the purpose of redemption.

A Picture of Perfect Love
In a world awash with faulty definitions of love, the definition that God has provided through the cross of Jesus is the standard that must inform our attempts to love others in truth.

Oneness
Let’s review. Building a marriage is like building a castle. Castles provide protection for the occupants inside. Our final wall is built as a man and woman “are united into one.” In the area of intimacy and connection we are asking the questions of how God sees sex and oneness and if there is a way to maximize intimacy in our marriage relationship (present or future).

Swelled Egos and Shriveled Souls
One of the greatest preachers of the 20th century was a man by the name of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones. He has written volumes on the Sermon on the Mount and he said that the 6th chapter of Matthew is both a very searching and painful section of Scripture. “I think,” said Jones, “that this chapter is one of the most uncomfortable chapters to read in the entire Scriptures.” Why is this so? What is it about these few verses that are so challenging for us today? The answer to this lies in the fact that these verses have the potential to open up our heart and reveal to us our true inner motivations. It holds a mirror up before us and it will not allow us to escape. Key Passage: Matthew 6:1-18

Love one another
Up to this point in Galatians Paul has been leveling argument after argument in favor of his Gospel of Grace, against the message of Works. At this point the Apostle Paul no longer appeals to the Galatians minds, but to their hearts as he reminds them of the love THEY had for him. Pauls confusion over the Galatians is based on their own testimony and works of love on his behalf. How could they who professed Christ and loved Paul so much return back to the Law?
