Sermons About Ordination
Keep Watch - A Deacon Ordination Charge
On his way home from Philippi to Jerusalem, Paul stopped off at Miletus (Mē-lā-tus) to visit with the Ephesian elders (Acts 20:1-17). Paul’s time of leading the church at Ephesus had come to an end. Voluntary Ordination
The central thought here is that of a Christian who does not seek his own interests but rather assumes a “voluntary ordination” of himself to God and to others. A true believer submits himself to authority because he is, first of all, submitted to Christ and then he uses his freedom as a tool to proclaim God’s praise (v. 9), an example to others that glorifies God (v. 11) and a means of silencing foolish critics (v. 15).

Love Mercy
Dr. Johnny Pope preaches from this passage and Micah 6:8 to help us understand that we need to love mercy. God is the God of a second chance and because we have received mercy at His hand, we should enjoy demonstrating mercy to those who wrong us. Those who have not received forgiveness and mercy and a hard time sharing it with others.

Set Apart by the Holy Spirit
How does a man know if he should be ordained to the Gospel ministry? And how does a church know? This sermon presents the Biblical pattern, purpose and process of ordination. The Holy Spirit is at work in a man's personal desire to serve, in his period of preparation for ministry, and in the public confirmation of his call.
