Sermons About Outcast
Feast for the Humble
Most Christians, if we’re honest, might have to confess that the prevailing story that our lives and reality are defined by is not the story of the Kingdom. But this story is comprehensive in scope and it calls for our whole life, our own individual stories, to find their fulfillment and meaning only in its story. Our identity, our purpose, our sense of value, our meaning, our security, our idea of comfort and pleasure are all to be absorbed into this great story that is the true story of the world and our lives.

Real Spirituality
God is seeking balance in our lives. He obviously care are about our worship, our learning from His Word and sharing life together. But that isn't the end of true spirituality. When we truly worship God, our hearts are captured by the things that matter to God...and God cares about the poor, the oppressed and the outcast. We must learn from Amos and begin to act in ways that will bring justice for those who are marginalized.

Luke 5:12-16
In another miraculous event, Jesus heals a man who was full of leprosy. The physical pain and suffering of a leper was not as bad as the emotional and sociological pain and suffering caused by this terrible disease. Lepers were outcasts who were not to be touched and were forced to live alone, outside of the city. The experience of the leper is no different than the experience of each one of us who are full of sin. We, like the leper, have only one hope--Jesus.
