Sermons About Outreach
A Peculiar People
Robert Munger has said, "In our time it may well be that the greatest single bottleneck to the renewal and outreach of the church is the division of roles between clergy and laity that results in a hesitancy of the clergy to trust the laity with significant responsibility, and in turn a reluctance on the part of the laity to trust themselves as authentic ministers of Christ, either in the church or outside the church." Key Passage: 1 Peter 2:4-5, 9-10

Can We Change?
Perhaps one of the key reasons that so many churches close their doors each year across North America, is because of the inability to adapt or change for the times. One generation founds the church with a passion and mission to impact their community...but without an intentional and regular "re-tuning" of the missional instrument (the church) it can easily fall out of step with the times and places and people it has been called to reach. From the birth of "the church" in Jerusalem nearly 2,000 years ago, the journey of Jesus' family has been one long journey of change and adaptation. The MESSAGE has remained the same (the offer of life through Jesus Christ) but the methods and approaches to ministry have changed again and again. So...what will it take for Willow Park to adapt to the time, place, and culture we live in today? How can we with relevance and authenticity bring the message of Jesus to our generation? Bottom line...Can we Change?

September 2, 2007 - Table Manners
Jesus uses the table fellowship to tell us to do two things: Carefully and humbly choose your own seat (he who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted) and make a space for others at the table. Jesus frees us from competition and from making a name for ourselves. Our name comes from the one who saves us.

Is There a God?
Does God exist? If so, what is He like? There is a God and you can know Him. In fact, He wants to know you. See how you can know there is a God and how you can know Him personally.

Soul Prosperity
We need to live in God’s righteousness, peace and joy on the inside all the time, not just cry out to God for it when we are in a crisis. Our soul is prospering when we are walking in step with Holy Spirit.

Do They Know You Care about Them?
In the eighth week of "Magnetic", we ask the question, "Will People Know You Care about Them?" In other words, do people sense that we see them as more than simply props or scenery in our own personal narrative? The answer to that question might indicate whether you'll be effective or not in reaching out to those far from God.
