Sermons About Outreach
Mission: Reach Out!
This sermon explores the mission Jesus has for His followers. We're to extend the invitation to follow Jesus to any and to all... to reach out to the sick, to extend mercy, and to call sinners.

Proper Evangelism
What does proper, effective evangelism look like? In the second chapter of the book of I Thessalonians the Apostle Paul commends the people for their work of faith, labor of love, and their witness to the world. In Chapter 2 he recalls the circumstances surrounding his coming to Thessalonica and the manner in which he came. In this message we learn that proper evangelism is Bold and Fearless, without Pretense, and it's hard work. (1 Thessalonians 2:1-8)

From home to...
Patrice Nagant is the director for church-planting for our Mennonite Brethren Churches in the province of Quebec. You will be inspired today by God's story in Patrice's life, and the exciting work that is happening in Quebec. Quebec represents for us one of the clearest images of the "Samaria" context; literally a nation within the nation, with its own language and customs but most importantly, beautiful people who matter to Jesus! My prayer for this weekend is that you'll be inspired by the partnerships we have in this least reached province of Canada. Acts:1-8

Hands that change the world...
We're wrapping up our series this weekend. We've covered a ton of material, but the bottom line really comes down to a pragmatic question; what are we going to do with what we know? These messages have been "meat and potatoes" type messages; no smoke and mirrors, no rocket science, no mysteries, just the basics. We know that we are called to: "LOVE PEOPLE, FOLLOW JESUS, AND SERVE THE WORLD." So.....? I want to leave you with this challenge. If you claim the name of Christ, then your life is no longer "yours." It belongs to Christ. And your agenda must now fall in line with His! So what is it that God is calling you to? Will our world be a better place because we were here? Are you willing to stand alone? Key Passage: Daniel 1:8 & 19

One Can of Caring
A caring heart, evidenced by caring actions is like a knock on the door of the heart of the unbeliever. If they don't open the door, at least they will peak through the curtains to see who is knocking. That is why "One Can of Caring" is an essential ingredient in a church.

I want more!
We've come full-circle in our discussion. I don't think you can prioritize the order of importance of evangelism, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and service; they all happen to some degree simultaneously. However, there are two ends to this journey. God calls us "out" of the world and back to Himself. The word "ecclesia" literally means the "called out ones." At the other end of the spectrum, we have the missional and sending heart of the Father that pushes us back out into the world. As He sent Jesus - He sends us! What a privilege to live "on mission" with and for God Himself! That's a calling worth stepping in to! Key Passage: Micah 6:8

Glocal
God has called us to not only reach the uttermost parts of the earth, but he has given us the challenge to reach the world around us. We as believers are called to go first into our Judea and Samaria to reach our neighbors for Christ. Join us for a Missions emphasis weekend at Church of the Hills as we plan to go "Glocal".

He ate with Sinners
Missionaries aren't just the folks who move overseas into another culture; Jesus was the first missionary, and He asks all of us to be missionaries, too, right where we are. Jesus also balanced perfectly living in the world, but not of the world. He didn't let the world contaminate Him; rather, He was the ultimate world changer.
