Sermons About Parenting
Parenting is Serious Business
As parents we need to know what the target is -- our objective should be to raise kids who are a bright reflection of Jesus by giving our kids a strong moral, relational, and spiritual foundation to carry them through life. We need to treat our children like God treats us To Be Like My Heavenly Father... I must: understand my children; accept my children; discipline my children; express love to my children. Ways that we express love to our children is by: saying the words "I love you"; affirming them; investing in our marriage; giving them attention; having fun with them and passing on our faith.

What's In Your Last Lecture?
Randy Pausch captured the hearts of America with his book, "The Last Lecture". Faced with his eminent death, Randy compiled all that was important to him in an effort to leave his three young children a picture of who he was and how he thought. God's word encourages each of us to do the same. Randy put on a sprint at the end of his life to accomplish the task, Let's see what God's word has to say about making our legacy a daily part of living, instead of a part of our dying.

Partner
The end result of growing up in this challenging culture will be a country of adults whose standards have been lowered and whose sensitivities have been blunted. So, how can we as a church transform a generation for Christ? We must GO Orange! The time is now for the church and parents to come together. We can’t afford to wait. The next generation’s future is at stake. So, we must Go Orange! Orange is all about synchronizing the church and parents around a master-plan to build faith and character into the lives of sons and daughters. The only thing that will matter 100 years from now is someone’s faith in Jesus Christ. So, we must get our priorities straight, lock arms in partnership with one another, and seek to produce a generation that seeks after the Lord. Over the next three weeks my hope is that you will see your part in this effort. Regardless of whether you are a parent, a grandparent, not a parent, or a parent to be we all have a part in transforming the next generation for Christ. The Bible makes it quite clear that kids are uniquely special to God. If you examine what the Scriptures say about children, you will discover how precious they are to Him. In His eyes, the represent a multitude of attributes and possibilities, they are a gift from Him, they are to be taught, they are valuable and to be protected, and they are invited to have a genuine relationship with Him.

Who's Raising My Kids Anyway
Our society is structured to ensure that our kids spend much of their time with their peers. This means that their values and character are being largely formed by their peers rather than their parents. As the body of Christ we need to live counter to our culture so that our kids grow up to be mature followers of Jesus. We need the whole community of the church to help raise our kids. Our kids need opportunities to take risks in an environment that is safe so that they learn from their mistakes and can be encouraged by the body.
