Sermons About Party
The Pity Party
The plan of God doesn't always settle well in our spirit and we wonder why His plan doesn't conform to our wishes. The plan of God for Nineveh gives us a glimpse of the bigger picture of God. Jonah was having a pity party because of the way God had acted while Nineveh was having a party because of the pity the Lord had shown them.

Converted into a Party
Eating is one of humanity’s most basic practices, something everyone does, and Jesus transforms these occasions into an encounter with Him. In sharing food and drink with His friends, Jesus was inviting them to share in the grace of God. His mission was revealed in His eating meals with sinners.

Our Father
One of the strongest words in our dictionary is father. For better or worse, the word seems to always invoke an emotional response. In Luke 15 Jesus tells three stories illustrating the heart of God toward those apart from Him. The third and final exhibits the heart of a father for a son whose life decisions seperate him from his father. In the story we see the heart of our heavenly Father, whose optimism, patience, grace, and forgiveness paint a self portrait of the God whose favorite title for Himself is Father.

Matthew 9:9-13 - Who Jesus Came For
Pastor Brian teaches on Matthew 9:9-13, where Jesus is at a party full of social outcasts and "sinners" - the prostitutes, gang members, and porn producers of the time. The Pharisees question Jesus' disciples as to why Jesus is associating with such people. Jesus himself responds that it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick, that He desires mercy, not sacrifice, and that he has not come to call the righteous, but sinners. Pastor Brian shows us that regardless of whether we are out in the open with our sin, like the people at the party, or if instead we hide it well like the Pharisees, we are all sick, all sinners, and all in need of mercy. It is only Jesus that can save us from our life of sin.
