Fire Danger
Just as a wild fire is started by a single spark, a single word can begin a chain reaction of events that you can never take back. That's why the Book of James warns us to guard our tongues.

Trusting Jesus and Elders During Difficult Times
People often aspire to positions of leadership because it can bring them fame, power, and comfort, and those who seek power for such reasons will often use the people they lead to achieve these goals. The Apostle Peter speaks to the leaders of the churches and reminds them that they are not to act like this but instead they should lovingly care for the people entrusted to their care, leading by example and not by being domineering, shepherding their flock in the example of their Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. The rest of the people in the church should humbly accept the authority of their pastors, knowing that God has appointed their leaders to help guide them and care for them.

Ecclesiastes 3:16 - 4:6
In Ecclesiastes 3:16-4:6, our friend Solomon seems to be speaking to our American culture of excess; we have everything under the sun. We have clean drinking water, High Definition TV, entertainment at our finger tips, and wealth (even our poor in American are wealthy compared to the rest of the world). Yet many of us find life meaningless. We see affluence and wickedness mingled together. How can we not have meaning in life when we have so much? Could it be that we have no meaning in life because we do not allow the Meaningful One to unify our lives under His Lordship? Join Pastor Derwin Gray as we continue our series "When It's All Said And Done."

Calling Out Our Best
If spiritual maturity is the goal for every follower of Christ, (and it is!) then spiritual discipline and mentorship must be required. Most of us would not be who we were today without a full complement of people who have poured into our lives. Parents, friends, teachers, coaches, mentors and others have poked and prodded us along the way – encouraged us to be or to become the very best we can be. In the spiritual realm we are told that God gives these gifts of “poking and prodding” as well. He intentionally sends into our lives those people who will help call out the very best in us. The questions we’re left with: Will we respond to the voice of God through these people? Will we allow God to use us like this in someone else’s life? Key Passage: Ephesians 4:11-13

Jonah 1:1-3
God was calling and Jonah was hearing, but it’s not good enough just to hear. What we do with what we’ve heard is essential. What do we do with our calling? SUFFERING
We all suffer don't we? And we've all asked the question: "Where's God?" when we suffer. That's a fair question . . . but is it the right question? Could it be that God is asking us a question in the midst of a suffering world? Join Pastor Derwin as he preaches a sermon entitled "Sufferring: Could Be That We Are Asking The Wrong Question?"

Leadership Structure
We believe that the Senior Pastor of the local church is to be the Lord Jesus Christ - see 1 Peter 5:4. We also believe that Jesus entrusted the earthly leadership of each local church to a team of Pastor - Elders. This message unpacks the biblical teaching on this topic and the application of this for Soma Church Community.

Freed By Faith To Love
The Ten Commandments (The Law) demands that we love God and neighbor; the only problem is that the Law cannot empower us to do it and then it condemns us when we fail to measure up. Grace on the other hand, not only demands that we love God and neighbor, it also supplies us with the power to do it! In this teaching, experience how Jesus sets us free to love.
