Sermons About Peace
Galatians 1.1-5: The Gospel of Grace and Peace
Paul tells us in Galatians 5.1, It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery As Paul writes to the Galatians there is something important at stake. It is freedom. True freedom was being attacked in his day and it is being attacked in our day as well. We must lift up Jesus, who is the freedom giver. The cross of Christ is the only way one can experience true freedom and the Spirit of Christ is the only way one can live out God's aim and mission. Over the next few months we will look at God's desire of freedom through the book of Galatians. We will see what God has done to make freedom possible, we will see the message of freedom and see how one who is truly free lives. Our prayer is that nothing would hold you back from living out God's aim and mission. Our prayer is that you would be free and therefore live a life of freedom.

A Certain Salvation (Romans 5:9-11)
Some kinds of doubt -- self-doubt -- are healthy. But it is unhealthy for us to doubt God and his promises; we end up hedging our bets and trusting in things less secure. Not only that, but our doubting God is sin, unbelief. In this passage, Paul presents one of his strongest logical arguments for our assurance of God's saving us and keeping us. Paul anchors our assurance in the objective work of justification and reconciliation that Jesus accomplished at the cross. He has accomplished the most difficult thing in bringing us justification and reconciliation through his death. We can be confident that the one who declared "it is finished" will continue to preserve us! As a result, we rejoice, and we boast in Christ; we do this by looking backward on what he has done for us, by looking forward with confidence in his faithfulness and promises, and by living today in light of our certain hope.

Philippians 1:1-2 - A Captive Joy
We normally think that Philippians is all about joy, and that is of course a major theme when it flashes forth 16 times. But it is sparked by the deeper themes of Paul’s letter. Philippians calls us to a particular kind of joy - a joy that was experience by Paul in Roman captivity facing a capital charge while his leadership was being contested. In this sermon we will look at acts 16 and see the journey Paul took to get to Philippi with his companions (Luke, Timothy, and Silas) including the Macedonia call by the Spirit of God. Secondly we will look at Paul's reception by 3 different people in Acts 16 when he arrives at Philippi. Finally, we will look at the occasion for this letter late in Paul's imprisonment at Rom (probably after 62 AD). My desire and prayer is that you will see the servant heart of Paul in fellowship with the Philippians Christians was based on making Christ the center of the letter and the motivation of His joy.

He promised victory over death and is preparing our eternal home.

Get the Log out of Your Eye
Spiritual blindness can lead to conflict as we overlook the logs in our eyes and try to take out the specks in each other's eyes. That was the Pharisees' problem and it was making them blind. But Jesus heals blindness and has come to take out our beams and make us well too.

The Word of Forgiveness
A Word of Forgiveness Luke 23:34 1. Forgiving the unforgivable begins with prayer. Jesus' prayer on the cross was * Surprising * Sensitive * Sufficient 2. Forgiving the unforgivable always involves a Pardon. This Pardon: * Involves a purpose * Consist of an ongoing principle * Is a commanded practice * Contains power for all who need it -For those below the cross -For those beyond the cross 3. Forgiving the unforgivable makes way for us to experience peace. Only through forgiveness can peace be restored: * With our Creator * With other Christians * In all circumstances -No matter the event -No matter the enemy

Life Is Precious
The teaching of Evolution has convinced this world that we are nothing more then animals. Should we be surprised when humans act like animals? We will find value in life once we realize we are all made in the image of God. He made us to be like him. Life is Precious because God knows us and loves us. We have hope and peace because Christ Jesus died and was raised from the dead for us.

Casting our cares upon him
Do we fix our eyes on Jesus in the Midst of our worries? The reason we worry is that we take our eyes off of Jesus. Peter sunk in the water when he took his eyes off of Jesus. It will be the same way for us. We must fix our eyes on jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.

Rejoice with Joy Unspeakable / Stay in the boat.
The faith of many is being tested right now. We need to rejoice, because the testing of our faith is good for us. It means there’s something the enemy is trying to keep us from. It helps strengthen us. Those who are not being tested need to be agreeing with those who are that they will receive that for which they are believing. We need to stay in joy. God will come though for us. Stay in faith. Stay in the boat, in joy. Joy is the boat. There’s no triumph without a trial, no victory without a battle. But the battle is the Lord’s. Don’t give up, you’re almost there.

Finding Rest
Life comes at us in many directions, and we wonder why we feel spiritually empty. We can enjoy God's rest if we recognize our responsibility and realize our limitations. We have to give our burdens to God then be ready to leave them with Him. Also, rest comes as we link up with Jesus. By walking alongside Him, we'll become more like Him and enjoy His peace.

Love
Paul said in 1 Cor 13:13: "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." When preached, this message was met with an overwhelming amount of appreciation from the hearers. It’s a real 'chicken soup for the soul' kind of sermon. Be blessed as you hear it for yourself.
